PlasmaJet VS PlasmaGen® Review
PlasmaJet VS PlasmaGen® Updated 2020
Imagine this… You’re at the gym having a killer workout, but when you checkout your pump– its only sub-par. You already took your pre workout and you feel yourself getting in the zone, so what’s the issue? Vasoconstriction, AKA, where pumps go to flatten. The good news is that you don’t have to let your pumps fall flat. Instead, you can reach for a nitric oxide product like PlasmaJet or PlasmaGen to pick up the slack.
Don’t worry, we know they sound the same and we’re going to go over what’s different! But, before that, let’s go over what “vasoconstriction” is.
Vasoconstriction refers to the constriction of blood vessels by small muscles in their walls. When these blood vessels constrict, blood flow is slowed or blocked. In return, your pump isn’t what it could be.
What is PlasmaJet and PlasmaGen?
Both products, as previously mentioned, are nitric oxide products (also known as vasodilators). As you can imagine, these products can aid in dilating your blood vessel to allow better blood flow.
What’s The Same:
With names so similar, it’s not a surprise that these formulas share a lot of the same ingredients. These include:
- Tri-Xanthine™ Blend/Natural Xanthine Blend
- Hypoxanthine Riboside
- Adenosine-5-triphosphate-disodium-salt
- Glycerol
- Choline Bitartrate
- Potassium
- N(omega)-hydroxy-nor-L-arginine
On the top of our list we have the Tri-Xanthine™ Blend and Natural Xanthine Blend. Unfortunately, these blends reside with proprietary blends. So we cant be sure of how much of each ingredient there is. But, each blend contains the same 3 ingredients:
- Green Coffee Bean Extract
- Green Tea Extract
- Theobroma Cocoa Extract
Green Coffee Bean Extract
This extract contains chlorogenic acids and caffeine, which may aid in weight loss (1). However, the energy provided by Green Coffee Bean Extract may have more of a natural energy boost feel, rather than a the energy boost you feel from a cup of coffee.
Green Tea Extract
In addition to its many benefits as a potential weight loss aid, Green Tea Extract may also be beneficial for improving exercise performance and recovery. The antioxidants and catechins found within Green Tea Extract can aid in reducing cellular damage. As a result, they may reduce or delay muscle fatigue. As well as, provide some energy (2,3).
Theobroma Cocoa Extract
Theobroma Cocoa (Cacao) Extract originates from coco beans. Where, the primary alkaloid is theobromine. Theobromine has several uses including promoting an energy boost and even acting as a vasodilator (4).
The next ingredient on our list is Hypoxanthine Riboside, which is also in both product’s Hypertrophic Vaso Expansion Blend.
Hypoxanthine Riboside
Hypoxanthine Riboside, also known as Inosine, has been described to have beneficial exercise performance. However, there currently is not enough research to support this. Instead, research does support its neuro-protective potential. This includes it’s potential for preserving the viability of glial cells and stimulating axonal regrowth after injury (5).
Adenosine-5-Triphosphate-Disodium Salt
Next, Adenosine-5-Triphosphate Disodium Salt, which may aid in increasing ATP, reduce muscle performance, and increase athletic performance (6).
Glycerol
Glycerol promotes the prevention of dehydration, improved exercise performance, and increased muscular pumps (7).
Choline Bitartrate
There are a bunch of benefits of Choline, but what it’s most recognized for is it’s role in cell structure, messaging, fat transport and metabolism, and DNA synthesis and nervous system maintenance. What this translates to is improved brain functions like memory and focus (8).
Potassium
Potassium is really important for the body for several reasons. First and foremost, its helps maintain proper fluid balance. But, it also helps maintain healthy blood pressure, and promotes heart and bone health (9).
N(omega)-Hydroxy-Nor-L-Arginine
This is a new approach to increasing N. O. production in the body because it does so through a different mechanism. This ingredient prevents the breakdown of arginine and other N. O. precursors in your body so your natural N.O. levels can rise.
So arginase is the enzyme that would breakdown arginine, by inhibiting that enzyme your arginine levels are going to go up naturally (10).
What’s Different:
PlasmaJet
First and foremost, PlasmaJet contains 90 capsules per package, which translates to 2 more servings than in PlasmaGen. The next difference is that PlasmaJet contains 3 complexes, instead of the 4 that’s in PlasmaGen. Within each of these complexes there are ingredients that are not in PlasmaGen.
Nitric Oxide Support:
Agmatine Sulfate
Agmatine Sulfate is another pump ingredient, which is a metabolite of L-Arginine, an amino acid. Research suggest Arginine may govern nitric oxide (NO) synthesis. As well as working to properly regulate cellular energy. This makes agmatine sulfate a popular pump-inducing supplement choice. But, further research is needed on this ingredient (11,12).
Inositol Hexanicotinate
Inositol hexanicotinate may be beneficial as a vasodilator and may aid in reducing blood pressure (13).
Amentopump®
Amentopump® or Selaginella Tamariscina Extract to Amentoflavones may aid in relaxing vascular smooth muscle, which aids in assuring adequate blood flow is maintained (14,15).
Vaso Expansion Matrix:
Beet Root Extract
This extract may be beneficial in enhancing aerobic performances. Like Arginine, Beet Root Extract may aid in increasing nitric oxide levels, which translates to increased blood flow and strengthening of muscle contraction (16).
Arginine Inhibitor Matrix:
Niacin
Outside of it’s role as B-Vitamin (there are many), Niacin does aid workouts, which is why it’s in almost every pre workout. It can actually reduce blood pressure (17) and some studies are evaluating its effectiveness as a vasodialator (18).
Boron Amino Acid Chelate
Boron is essential to the body. It has vast important roles in metabolism and even bone health and growth. It also can greatly impact how your body uses estrogen, testosterone, and vitamin D, among many other benefits (19).
PlasmaGen®
As you may have noticed, PlasmaGen looks very similar to how PlasmaJet used to look. But, PlasmaGen is product from Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals, not Gaspari. If you’re familiar with Hi-Tech’s other products, it would come to no surprise to you that one of biggest differences between these products is the delivery system. Where as in PlasmaJet there is no delivery support system, PlasmaGen has it within the N.O. Support & Delivery System.
Proprietary Arginase Inhibitor
s-(2 boronoethyl)-L-Cysteine HCl (BEC)
BEC works in a very similar fashion as N(omega)-Hydroxy-Nor-L-Arginine. In that they both can aid in increasing nitric oxide through vasorelaxation (20).
Hypertrophic Vaso Expansion & Phosphodiesterase Formula:
Cnidium Monnieri extract
This ingredient is the primary mechanism behind some of the more stronger pharmaceutical drugs such as Cialis and Viagra. The reason why you would have a natural version of this ingredient in here is because when your blood vessels are relaxed, it allows for more blood to pump through. Which will tie in nicely and work synergistic-ally with the other ingredients in here (21,22).
Caffeine Anhydrous
Caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant within the methylxanthine class. It works by binding to the receptor in the brain called the adenosine receptor. But, unlike adenosine, caffeine doesn’t slow down the cell. Instead, cells speed up. It also can cause the brain’s blood vessels to constrict. This is due to it blocking adenosine’s ability to open them up, which is why it is sometimes referred to as a vaso-constrictor (23).
Rauwolfia Serpentina
The Rauwolfia Serpentina extract is a powerful stimulant that may aid in decreasing blood pressure and preventing fat-storage because its an alpha yohimbine (24).
N.O. Support & Liposmal Delivery System:
Inositol Citrulline Silicate
The next ingredient is inositol citrulline silicate, which may be a more powerful version of citrulline. Interestingly, some studies suggest that Citrulline increases N.O. production better than arginine itself even though citrulline is a byproduct of arginine (25).
Phosphatidylserine (PS) & Phosphatidylcholine (PC)
Next up is PS, PS is a nootropic supporting cognitive function and it may aid in elevating post exercise testosterone levels. PC, may aid to help with the liposomal delivery, to increase the bio-availability of all the ingredients†.
